General Qualification for All Crew Members
- Minimum Age: Usually 21 years old (varies by cruise line and position).
- Valid Passport: Required for international travel.
- Valid SIRB (Seaman Book:Required for Cruise ship job.
- STCW Certification: Basic Safety Training (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch keeping) is mandatory for most positions.
- Seafarer Medical Certificate: Must pass a medical exam proving fitness to work at sea.
- Visa Requirements: Depending on the cruise line’s itinerary, a C1/D visa (for U.S. ports) or other work visas may be required.
- Experience & Skills: Previous experience in hospitality, maritime and 5-star hotel minimum 3-5 years.
- English Proficiency: English is commonly required, and additional language skills can be an advantage.
- Clean Background Check: Some cruise lines require a background check.
- financially capable in paying for the first years joining fees such as Medical, STCW, SIRB fees, Labor clearance, Crowd Managements trainings fees etc.
- willing to work continuously onboard for at least 7 months
